Abstract

From the aerial parts of Salvia montbretii, in addition to the known compounds, two new triterpenoids were isolated. The structures of the new compounds were established as 3 beta-O-cis-p-coumaroylmonogynol A and 3 beta-O-trans-p-coumaroylmonogynol A by NMR and mass spectroscopy. The structure of monogynol A was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
