Abstract

Viral encephalitides are associated with high rates of mortality and morbidity despite treatment. We presented a 42-year-old male patient to emphasize the importance of prophylactic antiviral therapy. He was admitted with a diagnosis of sepsis. Admission cranial computed tomography showed no pathology, and subsequent magnetic resonance imaging was not helpful in the differential diagnosis between a mass or infection.
