Abstract

Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) isa rare brain tumor, which usually involves the temporallobe of children and young adults. lt makes up le ss than 1% of all astrocytic neoplasms. The tumor is located typically superficial and supratentorial. Occasionally long term epileptic seizure is observed in patients' history. Our case is 24 year old man who came to hospital with seizure episodes. ln his MRI there was asolid and cystic mass in right temporallobe. Radiologically the mass was correlated with ganglioglioma and the patient was operated. In the histopathologic examination of the tumor it was diagnosed as pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma.
