Libraries have been going through a radical transformation just like all other institutions due to transformative technological advancements. These advancements have deeply affected institutions and companies' way of functioning and serving their customers. In the light of these circumstances, libraries have faced the challenge of keeping pace with the developments and changes to be able to survive in the competitive information environment. Therefore, libraries have started providing information to their customers through not only published or electronic sources but also by letting them have experiences in the library environment. Also, they started to offer user-centered and proactive products and services.
Accordingly, one of the authors had the chance of spending a month in the USA in May 2023 with the MLA international fellowship program and visited more than 10 university libraries and experienced the transformation of libraries specialized in different fields. The presentation will include examples of good practices in the US academic libraries' areas of physical library space planning, digital research methods, open access and research data, digital literacy, and collection development, which are important topics of transformation in library services.
