Aim: The purpose of this study is to systematically examine program development studies in nursing education. Design: This study is a systematic review. Methods: In this study, “Google Scholar”, “CINAHL Plus”, “Pubmed”, “Ulakbim-TR index” and “EBSCO host” databases were scanned. These scans; In English using the keywords “Program development”, “Curriculum development”, “Nursing program development”, “Program development in nursing”, “Curriculum development in nursing”, “Program development in nursing education” and “Curriculum development in nursing education” has been made. This systematic review utilized the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses) reporting checklist (Page et al. BMJ 372, 2021). The population of the study consisted of 3,823 articles. Articles published as research or systematic review between 2018 and 2023, whose publication language was English, whose keywords were included in the title of the publication, whose full text was accessible, and aimed at program development in nursing education were included in the study. A total of 21 studies that met the inclusion criteria constituted the sample. Data analysis was carried out in accordance with the data summary form prepared by the researchers. Results: In this study, the findings related to the research questions are given under four headings. These titles are the research designs used in the studies, whether they were conducted in line with the stages of curriculum development, whether they were based on curriculum development models, and which fields and subjects they were conducted on. The majority of the studies conducted in the field of curriculum development are aimed at reviewing the literature and determining the current situation, which is the first step of curriculum development. Conclusion: In program development studies in nursing education; It has been determined that quantitative and qualitative research methods are used, the programs are developed within the scope of curriculum and educational program, and they focus on many different topics. It is recommended to increase the quality and quantity of program development studies in nursing education and parallel publications, and to design and improve qualified programs.
